SCS has particular experience in interlocking development and in the area of blockchain. In a project with Deutsche Bahn, SCS is developing an interlocking and safety system with FPGA technology. In the area of blockchain, the work on Integritee (trusted off-chain computing for Polkadot blockchains) and Quartierstrom (pilot project for an energy market on blockchain) should be highlighted.
In TARO, SCS is developing a (nearly) greenfield architecture that uses blockchain for the security logic of an interlocking. The architecture is being tested in a proof-of-concept implementation. Furthermore, SCS is evaluating the use of the technology in the railway sector together with colleagues from ÖBB.
